Overall Product Rating:

Excellent all round bag but original version may be better for some. Greater depth and height than original version allow 70-200mm f/2.8 to be stored vertically with ease and you can put a D700 with 24-70mm f/2.8 in as well. The compression straps also allow better customization fit to your body. The downsides: there are considerably less pockets for storing accessories and it's obviously a little larger. The Change Up bags are the best all round bag I've ever used. Incredibly flexible, compact, and hold much more than you'd possibly imagine. Which one is right for you depends mainly on the lenses you use. If you have a 70-200mm f/2.8 get the Version 2.0. If you're a Nikon user and have the 24-70mm f/2.8 again the latest version is probably preferable. But If your kit doesn't include these lenses you may be better off with the original design simply because there are options for storing accessories. Both great bags in their own right. The quality is up to Think Tank Photo's usual impeccable standards and either bag should last you a lifetime.

I've used the ChangeUp V1 since its inception and it's the best bag I've ever used, for all the reasons that are mentioned here. I don't shoot with really big glass, so the V1 actually worked out rather well for a D90/18-105/10-20/70-300 kit and some accessories. All that it really needed was the clever shaping of the V2's main bag to accomodate the viewfinder hump and it would have been good to go for a D7100/7D sized body. With this iteration ThinkTank has oriented the bag more towards the big glass pro shooter that is a large portion of their market and a bit away from the smaller body shooters that this bag served so remarkably well. There are a few detail changes to note: overall, the bag has gone on a bit of a diet. The rear shoulder strap slot pocket of the V1 has been largely replaced by a much bigger behind-the-backpad pocket that can store maps, notepads, or a small tablet if you're careful. The removeable insert is gone, but there's still a full width interior slot pocket just behind the front of the bag that in combination with the backpad pocket serves the same purpose as the older zippered rear pocket but is more space-efficient and versatile. The side wings are not as stiff as the V1's. This makes for easier stowage, but necessitates the load lifters to control heavier loads. The V1's metal D-ring for hooking up the shoulder belt is now a webbing loop; since I tend to use this connection heavily, this is a questionable reliablity move. The two-pull zipper of the V1 is now a single pull. The bag opens up much wider but it does make the bag prefer one side of the body for the smoothest operation. The V1 was agnostic. The buckles and belt webbing are narrower; and finally, there's no way to attach a jacket or other gear to the bottom of the bag, like was possible on the WiredUp series. Some strap mount points down there would be most appreciated. I would concur with the previous reviewer that the V1 may serve some photogs' needs better than the V2. If the V1 is going away, that's too bad. There's need for a small and a large version of this classic bag.

This bag is smaller then the Nikon shoulder bag that came bundled with my D600, in fact I was able to put it inside the Nikon bag. It however holds all of the bundled lenses that came with the camera plus, my AIS 50mm f1.2 and my AIS 20mm f3.5 which the Nikon bag did not. Easy to get what I need out. the ability to use it as a waist or cheats bag is awesome. The chest bag works well when ridding my motorcycle.

Almost five stars. I love the Think Tank Change Up bag. I was delighted to see that they still carried this product as I raved abutted when I called Think Tank last year. The best part is that it can be worn as a waist or fanny pack and also my favorite as a shoulder system. The weight of the camera system is absorbed by this fantastic design. I can even fit my iPad in with a DSL. Thanks Think Tank you have made my photo days very pleasurable.

Constructed well like all think tank bags but beware. For me it was very uncomfortable and awkward. Just does not work for me. I ordered the speedbelt with the modular set. Yeah baby now that's comfortable.

Excellent bag, I bought the change up V2 to replace my sling bag for a hiking holiday in Luxembourg. It worked great, I could take along everything I wanted to take and I found it very comfortable even after a whole day of hiking and climbing. When doing some serious climbing I would wear it backwards, that is on my backside but with the shoulder straps, this worked great, was stable, comfortable and safely out of the way. Two points that could see improvement: I really miss having straps at the bottom for a jacket or tripod; also the front pocket is not "easily accessible" at all, especially when the bag is full, the zipper is very tight and the pocket difficult to access, the front pocket from the Freak would have been much better; this is why I gave the bag 4 stars instead of 5. All in all, a great bag which I find myself using far more often than I originally expected, its handy even for a day at the zoo.
