Think Tank Photo introduces the Sling-O-Matic, the photo industry’s first sling camera bag that can be easily switched back and forth to either shoulder. The Sling-O-Matic’s adjustable, fully padded shoulder strap “automatically” slides along a set of rails to change which shoulder the bag can be worn on. This is the innovative solution to the problem inherent with other sling bags: only being designed to wear the sling bag over the same shoulder. With one smooth motion, the Sling-O-Matic can be quickly switched to the opposite shoulder without losing the characteristics that have made sling bags popular among photographers. The Sling-O-Matic series offers three unique bags to choose from, depending on the set of photo gear a photographer needs to carry.

Top Features:
  • Sling-O-Matic can switch back and forth “automatically” to carry over either shoulder
  • Gear access always stays on top when Sling-O-Matic is in front
  • Carries a DSLR and a 70-200 f2.8 attached, with the lens hood in position

Gear Profile:
  • Carries a regular size DSLR and a 70-200 f2.8 attached with lens hood in position, plus 3-5 additional lenses
  • Can accommodate some pro size DSLRs and a 70-200 f2.8 attached with lens hood in position, plus 3-5 additional lenses
  • Not compatible with all Nikon Pro DSLR cameras

Features:
1 The photo industry's first sling bag that can be easily switched back and forth to either shoulder. Sling-O-Matic's adjustable, fully padded shoulder strap "automatically" slides along a set of rails to change which shoulder the bag can be worn on. With one smooth motion, the Sling-O-Matic can be quickly switched to the opposite shoulder without losing the characteristics that have made sling bags popular among photographers.
2 Gear access always stays on top, when the Sling-O-Matic is in front, no matter which shoulder the bag is carried over.  Part of the challenge of creating a "reversible" sling bag is to make sure that the access door to the photo equipment faces up when the bag is swung forward.  No complex reconfiguration of the Sling-O-Matic is required.  Simply flip the bag over, open it up and start taking great photos!
3 Fits a DSLR with up to a 70-20 f2.8 attached and the lens hood in shooting position! Sling-O-Matic can also accommodate some pro size DSLR camera bodies with a lens attached.
4 Discreetly stylized to avoid obviously appearing like a camera bag.  Going incognito is important when carrying expensive photo equipment.  Like other Think Tank bags, the Sling-O-Matic is all black on the outside so it won't attract too much attention when the equipment is stowed away.
6 Up to a medium sized tripod can be carried on one side using the included tripod straps.  Each Sling-O-Matic includes two fully adjustable straps that attach to small, but secure, fabric loops on either side of the long pocket.  Depending on the size of the tripod legs, one or two of the legs can be inserted into the long pocket for additional stability.
7 Some small tripods can simply be carried in the long pocket, without using the tripod straps.
5 Long side pocket for carrying a large water bottle or other bulky accessories.
8 Large handles on three sides help to swing the bag around or just carry it in hand.
9 Wide zippered pockets on front, back, and side for carrying a newspaper, airline boarding passes, or other items.
10 Business card pocket on the top for carrying a short stack of business cards.
11 Attach the included "chest strap" for additional stability while walking around.
12 The adjustable side of the chest strap can be used as a waist strap, if preferred.
13 A small pocket on the bottom of the Sling-O-Matic is available for storing any of the removable straps.
14 A selection of padded dividers are included to partition the Sling-O-Matic's interior for different types of gear.
15 A seam-sealed rain cover is included for protecting the Sling-O-Matic and its contents from heavy rain, dust or snow.

I have at least 5 thinktank bags. Possibly more. A few rollers, shoulder bags etc. I needed a bag that I could take with me on vacation that was easy to hike with, explore and not worry about weight hurting my shoulders and I wanted hands free. I got all of the above with the Sling-O-Matic. I am able to fit inside the 20, a 5dmk2 with 24 1.4 attached (hood on) a 70-200 2.8 mk 2 with hood, a 50mm 1.2, a 7d body, 2 chargers, pixel pocket rocket, extra batteries, business cards and an iPad, all comfortably with extra room to spare. I bet I can even get a flash in there. Great bag. Highly recommended for those *grab and go* situations. :)

I was surprised how comfortable this bag proved to be, even heavily loaded with two Canon 5D mark II bodies, 4 heavy L lenses (35mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.2, 85mm f/1.2, and 16-35mm f/2.8,) extra batteries, other odds and ends, and an iPad. It was comfortable enough to keep slung over one shoulder for hours -- and when that shoulder did get tired, switching to the other shoulder proved quick and easy. I was also pleased with the abundance of grab handles (which make the bag easy to use while on the shoulder,) the abundance of pockets (including the very useful large pocket running along the length of the bag) and the overall smallness of the bag (considering its large capacity.)

This is my first think tank bag.(Sling-O-Matic 20) I have a backpack but it's a pain to take off when you need to get something quickly. I wanted something that I could carry my gear comfortably and yet have quick access. WOW! The quality and thought that went into this bag is awesome. Smooth and functional. Very pleased!

My second ThinkTankphoto bag, after the revolutionary Rotation360° Backpack. I was looking for a bag to carry a medium format on the back. The Rotation 360°, otherwise a great bag, I love it, is too small for medium format. the Slin-O-Matic is very versatile and easy to carry. A Hasselblad 203FE with three lenses (e.g. 110, 40, 250) and accessoiries fits in well. Easy access still possible, without put it down! Another great bag!

I had a small sling bag in the past, used it for holidays and such and it was so handy but the gear out grew the bag. I was ready to purchase a Lowepro Slingshot 202 AW but when I was looking at the photo store the Sling-o-matic 20 caught my eye and was very impressed with space, size and more importantly the dual shoulder capability. When I brought it home I was very impressed with the versatility of the bag and the amount of gear it van hold. Do you Know anybody who wants a back pack, I don't need it any more, it all fits in the new bag

This is actually a great bag...if your camera body fits. I bought this bag in anticipation of a shoot I had the following week. The evening before the shoot was the first time I tried to configure the bag for the gear I was packing. My camera body would not fit in this case with any lens attached. All of my bodies are Canon 1 series bodies. Shame on Think Tank to market this in an ambiguous way. Pro bodies will not fit in this bag with an attached lens. If it had enough depth to accomodate an actual pro sized body, it would be a phenomenal bag. Please make a Pro version of this bag, Think Tank!

Im carrying a toyo 4x5, meter, 6 holders, pack of25 sheets, changing bag, tape, lens, and it is perfect, compactm beautiful design, minimal...loving it

Sorry to say it but four days into a two week Ireland trip, I said to my wife, "I officially hate this pack". It is awkward to use. Without the camera in the pack it deforms when brought to the front. It knocked my hat and glasses off almost every time when taking off and broke glasses hanging around my neck. The pack is very well made though. Plus the pockets are too tight to store much of anything.
