Rotation180® technology is a patented solution that enables photographers to quickly access their camera, while on the move or in precarious situations, without taking off the backpack. The backpack incorporates a rotating belt pack that houses essential camera gear, including a DSLR or Mirrorless body, several lenses and a variety of accessories. For this latest generation of backpacks, Think Tank designers enhanced the original Rotation180 technology by integrating a magnetic closure on the belt pack lid, enabling camera access from stowed to shooting position in less than 3 seconds.
Nature and travel photographers need quick access to their gear in any situation. They also want to carry heavy gear with the comfort of a backpack. The MindShift Rotation Backpack Series is the only solution that combines the comfort of a technical backpack with immediate access to cameras and more.
The MindShift Rotation Backpack Series is available in three sizes ranging from 22, 34 and 50+ liters of capacity. Each backpack includes a camera belt pack, a 10-point adjustable harness system and ample room for personal gear. Designed specifically for Adventure Photographers, the backpack series can be adapted to carry a tripod, hydration reservoir, ice/mountain axe, trekking poles and extra camera gear using a MindShift Stash Master photo cube (sold separately).
Adventure Photographers also need a backpack that will stand up to the rigors of outdoor activity, including rugged terrain, inclement weather and the need for ample personal gear. Using advanced construction techniques gained from 15-years of experience manufacturing camera bags, and using rugged materials coated with water resistant polyurethane, the MindShift Rotation Backpack Series will stand up to any adventure. Seam-sealed rain covers for both backpack and belt pack are available separately and are designed to work with the rotating system.

With every good story, there’s often a better backstory. The same is true with the BackStory series of camera backpacks. Think Tank designers spent many hours researching, discussing benefits, developing prototypes, reviewing, and revising the BackStory line. The end result is a truly innovative and full-featured backpack that serves the needs of expert photographers.
The BackStory’s rear-panel opening offers complete access to your gear while a top panel provides quick access to your camera and speeds your workflow. A deep front compartment with zippered mesh pockets has ample room for personal gear, including a 10” tablet and laptop (size-specific for either 13” or 15” laptops). And with its plush shoulder harness and removable waist belt, the BackStory is comfortable enough to wear all day.

We launched the Kickstarter on Tuesday September 15th, and promptly made our funding goal in just 4 hours! After all of the hard work it was awesome to see people respond to the updated design elements in the newest generation of Rotation packs in such a big way.
Oh and those content creators we sent packs to ahead of time? They came through in a HUGE way, sending us back incredible footage from the Alps, the streets of Taipei, the Scottish Highlands, Patagonia, the Grand Canyon, the Dolomites in Italy... well, you'll just have to check out the sizzle reel for yourself:
If you're interested in finding out more about Rotation and the updates to the series (magnets!) also be sure to check out the Kickstarter video, hosted by documentary filmmaker, Austin Meyer. Austin breaks down the updates and technology that goes into this revolutionary design (see what I did there?) and highlights the differences between the three packs sizes: 22L, 34L, and 50L+. What's the + mean? Watch the video to find out!

When the Think Tank design mad scientists dreamed up their fantasy carry-all duffel gear hauler, the entire team knew they were onto something.
We're ALL weekend warriors here at Think Tank, and when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we found ourselves trapped at home, unable to ride, run, climb, camp, hike, and travel like normal. We started to go a little stir crazy.
But we funneled our pent up energy into designing and launching the Freeway Longhaul in just 8 weeks, and we're so glad we did!
Check out the pitch video our team shot with our own family members while we were all sheltered in place:
The Kickstarter was just the beginning, because you can order your Freeway Longhaul 50L or 75L (or both!) on our site right now!
As we all dream about the road trips and adventures ahead, we want to know — where will you take your Longhaul?

The Stand Manager 52 is one of the most durable and protective cases you can own.
“C-stands are heavy, oddly shaped and difficult to transport,” said Doug Murdoch, Think Tank Photo’s President and lead designer. “With the Stand Manager 52, you can fit up to 4 C-stands in a highly durable rolling case, making them much easier to transport.”
