Mine is the older version but really love it, combine with my 1510 pelican case and my 1080 Pelican 12.1 notebook hardcase in the outside pocket.

Like this product because of the light weight and spacious space inside.

I also have the older version and I love it. It's a got a ridiculous amount of space - I carry two bodies - 5DMk2, 20mm f2.8, 28mm f1.8, 50mm f1.4, 100mm f2, 200mm f2.8, 580EX II, 430EX, ST-E2, batteries, chargers and cards and still have room left over for clothes. My only complaint with the older vers is that there was no dedicated room for a laptop. Happily the current version fixes that. It's terrific.

I just bought last week the Pelican 1510 with dividers and the ThinkTank Ultralight 2.5 from Adorama. I used the combo today flying with Delta and it saved me from a headache. I had the UL in the Pelican (left dividers home) in the first leg of flight and they asked me to leave the bag at the gate so I just took the UL out and was good to go. The Pelican shell went into the belly of the aircraft and the Ultralight fit nicely in the overhead compartment. In the second flight (Detroit to Rochester), I tried to do the same trick but the flight attendant ask me to leave the Ultralight at the gate too. So I just turned back to the bridge where I left the Pelican shell, put the UL inside, locked it with the Pelican TSA lock and I was good to go. I know it's a pricey combo but it works great. Here is what I had in the Ultralight: 1DMK3 + 2nd battery 5D 70-200, 2.8 IS Sigma 50 Canon 24, 1.4 580 EX2 3 PW (TT1 and TT5s) Thinktank rain cover GPS Some cables, memory cards etc There is still room for a flash left. It's a great combo if you fly a lot and if you don't need to bring with you too much equipment. I wish it had a way to attach the tripod.

For the weight & overall dimensions, I don't think you can beat the 2.5 version. It's sized like a Domke shoulder bag (F-1?), but much more versatile. It would make a great dedicated "strobe sack", but it hauls the following for me: 3-sb900, 24-70, 14-24, 70-200 attached to D3s, D300s (with grip), batteries, flash & filter misc., 15" macbook pro w/external drive, and a few more essential tag-alongs. Still, it has some spare room! The inner pockets really roomy and well made. Love the two end grabs. Could/should have a tripod/monopod attach/pocket, otherwise superb. Ample laptop sleeve, and clip-less closure very welcomed.

Great bag to carry your camera's around. Gear I use : Nikon d300 with battery grip Nikon d80 with battery grip Nikkor 28-75mm 2.8 Nikkor 50mm 1.4 Nikkor 85mm 1.8 Nikkor 14-24mm 2.8 & some other stuff It's heavy to carry but is fine once I carry it on my back. Great material & overall great bag.

Fantastic bag. I'm sure the internal dimensions are somehow greater than the external! The bag looks small but can hold a silly amount of gear. I have used it with a 500mm f4 and seperate body (1D) and there is still room for other stuff. I have flown from UK to various locations and never had a problem boarding flights and UK airports have some of the tightest carry-on limits in the world. Only way to improve it would be some form of removable tripod mount.

I have used this on two international air trips now and have carried my 500 as well as two DSLR bodies and 70-200. The bag is lightweight (3.5 lbs empty) and the best news is that it traveled in the overhead bin of regional jets as well as turbo props and I never had to check it. In a pinch it will definitely go under the seat. I bought the laptop sleeve that fits it but that is a really tight squeeze and you would have to remove the laptop to get the backpack in the overhead.
