Photo Contest Winners Named

The winners of Think Tank Photo’s first photo contest have been named.

The winner of the Grand Prize award is Chan Kwok Hung.   In the photographer’s words, “This photo was taken in Myanmar.  When the little Buddhist monks had completed a whole day of learning and working, they play football together.  They treasure the moment of fun and joy because two years later they will be sent to different temples according to their academic performance for further study and their career.”

The winners of the contests four categories are:

 In “The most creative, interesting, or unique “What’s In Your Bag” shot” category, the winners are:

  • 1st Place:  Bart Carrig
  • 2nd Place:  Keith Ibsen
  • 3rd Place:  Gregor Zadravec
  • Honorable Mention:  Lowell Domingo, Karen Ensley, Brian Gavriloff and Don Hammond

 In the “What does urban, gritty, or edgy mean to you?” category, the winners are:

  • 1st Place:  Chan Kwok Hung
  • 2nd Place:  Sudipto Das
  • 3rd Place:  Kevin Ballance
  • Honorable Mention:   Leroy Skalstad, Hansa Tangmanpoowadol, and David Bathgate

 In “The most creative, interesting, or unique shot of photographers wearing/using Think Tank gear” category, the winners are:

  • 1st Place:   Ola Morken
  • 2nd Place:   Gavin Blue
  • 3rd Place:  Brian Gavriloff and Don Hammond
  • Honorable Mention:   Spencer Boerup, Dan Ballard, and Katherine Gendreau

 In the “Any photo the entrant believes portrays Think Tank Photo’s ‘Be Ready ‘Before the Moment’ theme category, the winners are:

  • 1st Place:   Al Bello
  • 2nd Place:   Nilanjan Ray
  • 3rd Place:  Vadim Kozlovsky
  • Honorable Mention:  Somenath Mukhopadhyay, William Mancebo, and Aaron Kohn
